TRANSCRIPT
During His earthly ministry, the Savior taught His gospel, performed many miracles, and established His Church.
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
He called twelve men to be His Apostles-- Simon Bar-jona, by the authority of the holy priesthood that I hold-- --including Peter, James, and John.
He laid His hands on their heads to give them priesthood authority, to teach in His name, and to perform sacred ordinances, such as baptism, and to establish His Church in the world.
Anciently, His Church Was Called:
The Church Of Jesus Christ.
Peter later prophecies that the church they were setting up then would fall away, and that it will be restored in the latter-days.
2 THESSALONIANS CHAPTER 2
Apostasy is to precede the Second Coming—The gospel prepares men for eternal glory.
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first.
ACTS CHAPTER 3
19 ¶ Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
